Anything that allows us to get an advantage in terms of available minion-power will help us win a game. Because of this, the game is fairly steady in terms of the amount and power of minions on the field. In this game, we are limited to 10 mana at any point in time. But unlike Morellia's dragon dominating newbies, 7+ RoS decks have made their way to the top 10 on the leaderboard. That's the same reason that Morellia and Ravager's 3rd perks are good - as you've said, particularly in lower ranks. That huge spike is very hard to deal with. However, quickly playing multiple 7+ minions on the field at the same time means that, at some point during the battle, there's a massive spike in power with a 7+ Ritual deck. The return on the card is inherently limited by the time it takes to cycle your deck. It shouldn't be a contender caliber deck, but sadly, it is. The deck requires some skill to stay alive and get the right timing on RoS, but overall it is easy to play and boring. Any moron can load up on 7-cost cards and toss in Ritual. Unfortunately it actively encourages bad deck design. I think ritual was created to encourage variety in deck-building.
